ADOPTION STORY: Pee-Wee, The Pooch Born Without Front Legs

Posted by

We often hear the greatest rescue/adoption stories. If you have a story to share, email: hope@royaltradeusa.com

Our next one comes from Patrice, who owns a dog born without front legs. She never treated Pee-Wee any differently and loves how special and unique he is.

Pee-Wee was surrendered by a breeder in Texas to an organization called The Mia Foundation in New York. Pee-Wee and his brotherwho was also born without front legs came to the foundation in November 2014.

As soon as I saw Pee-Wee, I fell in love with him immediately and knew that we were meant for each other. My friend asked me what I wanted for my 50th birthday and I said Pee-Wee. She bought a plane ticket and flew from Illinois to New York on December 9th, 2014 to get Pee-Wee. When she brought him back to my house, I couldn't believe how tiny he was. He was so little that he fit in the palm of my hand. He just turned 5 months old and he is still very tiny and only weighs 2.3 pounds.

Pee-Wee is such a character. He runs, hops and he is very fast. He even lifts himself up really well and has great balance. He is quite the little spitfire. He will be getting a cart in the next couple of months so that I can take him for walks. I love this little boy so much.

He is one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Pee-Wee does not let his disability hinder him in any way whatsoever. He can do anything that dogs with four legs can do. His disability does not mean inability. Pee-Wee's motto is: "Never let adversity get in the way of your own happiness.”
